Beyoglu Sinemasi is a relatively old cinema that started to serve Istanbulites in 1989. cinema, offers two halls today and is a destination in the district.
Beyoğlu Sineması

When it first opened, Beyoglu Sinemasi had one hall that had a capacity of 300 seats and for a time was utilised for premieres, chat sessions, and workshops. It is also the first local movie theater to become a member of Eurimages (in 1994), as it has always supported independent films by showing over 3,000 movies from all around the world. The very first movie of Nuri Bilge Ceylan, Kasaba, was shown in Beyoglu Sinemasi. Moreover, almost all movies of directors such as Zeki Demirkubuz, Dervis Zaim, and Yesim Ustaoglu have been here too. In 2010 (like other historic city movie theaters), it started experiencing financial hardships and has launched an initiative “Loyalty Card” to increase volumes therby securing its future.
